Purpose
The FULL.BACKUP procedure is used perform a complete backup of all files on the system. This procedure utilizes the system file save utilities to accomplish this. By 'front-ending' the system utility procedures, you are able to perform an unattended system backup by placing FULL.BACKUP in the nightly batch process.
This procedure will perform a tape save of all system accounts which do not contain a 'DX' in the system file. Refer to your operating systems administrator manual for more details on the system file.
Frequency of Use
Nightly.
Prerequisites
Make sure a tape cartridge is in the tape unit and power is on.
